Multimedia Development

During 2002, Dreamerie Design branched into other multimedia design. Two sample CD-ROM projects are detailed below, and other CD-ROM projects are in the works.

MySCU simulation CD-ROM

The School of Human Services at Southern Cross University required a CD-ROM simulating the MySCU site used by students of the university. The CD was to be taken to the USA, to be used in a series of demonstrations, where internet access was not guaranteed. The original site was database-driven, so elements of the site were downloaded, specific pages identified, external site links identified (and external sites simulated) and then the whole simulation rebuilt to function properly on a Mac or PC-based system.

The Gingerbread Man

The Gingerbread Man project was developed as a children's interactive storybook, based on the traditional fairytale. Along with the "read with me" story, including animations and clickable words, there is also a recipe section, colouring section, and games, including a blank gingerbread man to decorate by clicking-and-dragging "icing" decorations.

Developed in Macromedia Authorware, the target group for the application was 3 to 6 year olds. However use has found that even 9 and 10 year olds enjoy playing with the "decorate the gingerbread man" section.
